Real-life polyamorous couples are bringing their unconventional relationships into the spotlight in a new reality series centered around the lives, dynamics, and challenges of modern-day throuples.
WE tv and ALLBLK recently unveiled a first look at “This Is Poly,” a new unscripted series exploring the realities of modern polyamorous relationships. The eight-episode show offers a rare look into the world of polyamory by following five very different polycules — interconnected groups of people navigating love, commitment, and nontraditional relationship dynamics.
The show follows the couples as they navigate building relationships, homes, and families outside traditional norms. The series explores the emotional complexities of jealousy, trust, communication, and commitment while challenging conventional ideas of love and redefining what modern family life can look like.

In the premiere episode, airing Friday, May 29 at 9:30 PM ET/PT, viewers meet Kami and Trent as they open up about their polyamorous relationship with Nita while preparing to publicly reveal their relationship dynamic to friends and extended family. While their children already know — including one daughter who is also exploring a poly relationship — the couple is now ready to fully step into the open.
The episode also introduces the Yahwehs, whose household presents a very different version of polyamory. Their family includes one husband, four wives, 17 children, and more babies on the way, all living together under one roof.
The series arrives amid the growing mainstream visibility of polyamory and consensual non-monogamy, particularly among younger generations. Studies show roughly 4% to 5% of adults are currently in non-monogamous relationships, while millions more say they’ve explored polyamory at some point in their lives. The lifestyle has gained especially strong interest among Millennials and Gen Z, with many younger adults expressing greater openness to relationships outside traditional monogamous norms.
This Is Poly aims to give viewers an inside look at the complexities, emotional dynamics, and unexpected challenges that can come with integrating multiple partners into one shared relationship and lifestyle. The series premieres Friday, May 29, at 9:30 PM ET/PT on WE tv, following the season premiere of Love After Lockup at 8 PM ET/PT.
