Kylie Jenner and Rihanna better watch out because Kanye West is coming for the beauty care industry.
The hip hop mogul and husband to beauty mogul Kim Kardashian West recently filed a trademark that could lead to his successful Yeezy brand adding make-up, skincare, nail products and fragrances to the collection.
According to new legal filings, Kanye’s company recently filed for a “Yeezy” trademark for beauty and skincare products. Everything from makeup and false eyelashes to facial masks, bath oils, and hair care products could be added under the Yeezy umbrella, TMZ reports.
Ther trademark even lists hygienic products like toothpaste and deodorant and houseware items like scented pine cones and aromatherapy pillows, the outlet adds.
If Kanye does embark into the beauty industry, he’ll be competing with his wife’s KKW Beauty line and sister-in-law’s billion-dollar company Kylie Cosmetics.
This appears to be somethin Ye has been trying to do. He filed a similar trademark back in 2017 for a DONDA brand cosmetics — named after his mother — but it never took off.
