More details are emerging about Jay-Z’s alleged sexual relations with a teenager back in 1992 that produced a son who remains adamant the hip hop mogul is his real father.
Rymir Satterthwaite, 30, claims to be the secret illegitimate son of Jay-Z and has been fighting for nearly 10 years to prove the Roc Nation CEO – real name is Shawn Carter – is his biological father, Daily Mail reports. Now Satterthwaite is taking his plea to the Supreme Court in an attempt to unseal the case and force Jay-Z to take a DNA test.
The New Jersey native reportedly wants nothing from the “NY State of Mind” rapper but to acknowledge him as his son. But Hova’s legal team continues to shut down the request saying the claims are false.
‘The allegations have been previously reviewed thoroughly by the courts and have been refuted,” Jay-Z’s attorney said. “I am sure that will be the outcome of whatever filings Mr. Satterthwaite is may be currently considering.”

But in a signed 2015 affidavit given to Daily Mail, Satterhwaite’s mother, Wanda claims that she met Jay-Z — who went by “Rock” at the time — back in 1992 in Philadelphia through her friend, Kaleesha Allen. She was 16 at the time and Jay was 22.
Wanda claimed she referred to herself as “Carmel” or “Precious” at the time and Allen also reportedly signed the affidavit as an eyewitness. Wanda alleges that she and Jay-Z had “protected sex,” but that the “protection broke,” the document, which was signed by a notary public in New Jersey on Feb. 25, 2015, states.
“I, Wanda Satterthwaite, write these allegations about my relationship with Shawn C. Carter. I met Shawn Corey Carter in the fall of 1992 and he identifies himself as ‘Rock’ through my friend Kaleesha Allen, who is [an] eyewitness.”
“Mr. Carter and a friend came to Philadelphia to pick up both me and Kaleesha around the area of 24th and Bolton St. in Philadelphia,” Wanda recalled.
She claims they went back to his two-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn.
“Shawn was wearing a black Woolrich hood jacket and a hat, and his hair was in a small afro, but once we left his aunt’s place, he put on a black leather jacket,” she claimed.
According to Wanda, the group “talked, drank, and danced” before her “girlfriend went off to the room with Shawn’s friend and I went with Shawn [to the other room].
“Shawn and I did have protected sex, but the protection broke,” Wanda wrote about the alleged encounter.
Wanda claimed that Jay-Z and his friend “returned two weeks later to see” her and Allen, but Allen was not present because she was “having problems at home.”
“Shawn asked me to leave with him, but I told him I could not because my mother would be upset,” Wanda wrote.
“I never saw him again until a year later on television, but I had no idea of his real name until later and did not know how to reach him.”
Wanda had been fighting legally to get Jay-Z to take a paternity test until she died of heart failure in 2019, NY Post reports. At the time Rymir was conceived, Wanda was in an on-again, off-again relationship with her high school sweetheart, Robert Graves. Graves signed Rymir’s birth certificate under the impression he was the father but a paternity test later determined that he was not.
Rymir and his godmother Lillie, who gained custody of him in 2011, have been fighting since 2012 to get Jay-Z to take a paternity test. But the billionaire hip hop mogul continues to deny the test and allegations.
Rymir is one of three people who have claimed or there are rumors that Jay-Z is their father. In 2020, a Maryland woman by the name of La’Teasha Macer claimed to be Jay-Z’s first daughter, via Hip Hop DX. There are also rumors that Jay-Z fathered a child with a woman in Trinidad during his time with his wife Beyonce, NY Daily News reports.
