A Florida police lieutenant was fired after he was caught on surveillance video attacking black people at a restaurant with his son.
Lt. Tim Partridge was off-duty and eating at the El Jalisco restaurant in Eastpoint with his son Scott Partridge, 23 when they got into a brawl with a group of black patrons earlier this month. Initial reports from local media claimed the officer was arrested after “getting involved in a fight,”. However, surveillance of the fiasco shows that the cop was clearly the aggressor.
In the video, Tim Partridge appears to get agitated by the black patrons which prompted him to hop up and start waving his arms around, yelling at the group of young people despite them causing harm to no one. After he yells at a group of patrons across the bar, he then turns his attention to a black man sitting in a booth behind him. Then, out of nowhere, he slaps the unsuspecting man in the face before shoving him into the wall. That’s when Partridge’s son stepped in and pulled his dad off the innocent restaurant patron. The pair leave the restaurant before returning a few moments later and Partridge’s son attacks the black people sitting in the corner.
The former Blountstown police lieutenant has since been fired and he and the two other men were charged with misdemeanors. Last Tuesday, Franklin County Sheriff AJ Smith said during a Facebook Live video the misdemeanor battery charges may be upgraded to a felony due to injuries on a female victim.
