A disturbing video is being shared on social media that shows a black woman screaming out “I’m pregnant” before she was fatally shot by a police officer in Baytown, TX.
According to the police department’s Facebook page, the officer in question was patrolling the Brixton Apartments when he saw the woman, whom he recognized after he’d had previous encounters with her. The officer claims to have known for a fact that the woman had outstanding warrants, which is why he approached her to place her under arrest.
Police say a struggle between the two ensued, and somehow, the suspect managed to take control of the officer’s taser and allegedly used it on the officer. The cop then pulled his gun and shot the woman at least once.
Shocking eyewitness video of the incident shows the victim on the ground screaming, “You’re harassing me” and “I’m pregnant” before the officer shoots.
Neither the officer or suspect’ named have been released. Lt. Steve Dorris told KHOU that the officer was possibly wearing a body camera, but that footage will not be immediately released due to the impending investigation.
