Rapper/actor Donald Glover and comedian Mo’Nique teamed up to shoot five short films made in conjunction with the release of his new Adidas Originals Collection of canvas sneakers.
“With this project, I wanted to encourage people to think about how their stories can be told on their feet. Value isn’t quantified by what you wear, rather the experiences from them. And you make the decision on what works for you, you live through your own lens. The partnership for me is about being able to exemplify what doing your own thing truly looks and feels like.” Glover said in a press release.
The collection consists of three signature sneaker styles—the Nizza, the Continental 80, and the Lacombe. Each pair is made with unbleached white canvas to give off a worn down look. The five films show Glover and Mo’Nique show the everyday wear of the sneakers while the two models the shoes while chopping wood, beekeeping, and just enjoying each other’s company.
This is the first time we’ve seen Glover and Mo’Nique team up. The films were shown along with the sneakers at an exclusive launch event in Los Angeles.
Hopefully we get to see more collabs between the two actors.
