Now that the cats out the bag and Grammy award-winning singer Adele went public with her relationship with Nigerian rapper Skepta, Twitter is having a field day with the news.
The music superstars and Tottenham, London natives have been regularly seeing each other since 31-year-old Adele ended her marriage of 9 years back in April. The two were spotted celebrating the 37-year-old rapper’s birthday at the Crystal Maze Experience in London less than two weeks ago.
Now a source recently revealed to The Sun, “Adele and Skepta have been there for each other a lot after both their relationships split up. They have a close bond and there’s definitely a special connection.
“They’re spending more and more time together. Some of their friends are hoping and predicting they could end up being a great couple one day.”
The source mentioned Adele’s 7-year-old son Angelo and Skepta’s newborn daughter River whom he welcomed last November.
“They are both private about their love lives and they are both committed to their children first and foremost as well.” the source added
Skepta — real name Joseph Junior Adenuga Jr — first revealed his close friendship with Adele back in 2016 when he told ES Magazine,
“Adele texts me all the time and keeps me in check. She speaks to me about how things are going.”
The “Skyfall” singer ended her marriage to charity entrepreneur Simon Konecki, 45, back in April after dating since 2011. Sources at the time told The Sun that Adele was eager to get back onto the dating scene. Skepta briefly dated supermodel Naomi Campbell in 2018 but they called it quits after Naomi learned another woman was expecting his child.
Three years ago, Adele showed Skepta some love on social media, to which he returned by saying “Love you”.
On Monday night a spokesman for Adele said: “No reply at this time.” while a representative for Skepta refused to respond to requests for comment, The Sun reports.
