#TrumpsTerrorists is the latest hashtag taking over Twitter after two mass shootings in less than 24 hours left at least 29 people dead.
The Commander in Chief Donald Trump is facing a barrage of criticism from angry Americans after 20 people were killed in a white supremacist-led mass shooting in El Paso, Texas on Saturday and 9 people were killed in a mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio just 13 hours later.
Patrick Crusius, 21, of Allen, Texas was identified as the gunman behind the El Paso shooting. He murdered a total of 20 people in the majority Latino city, located in western Texas on the US-Mexico border. Federal authorities are investigating the shooting as a potential hate crime and local prosecutors charged the 21-year-old white supremacist with murder and says he is facing the death penalty.
Officials referenced a document that Crusius allegedly left behind that says the shooting was a “nexus” to a hate crime. The writer of the document denounces the increasing Hispanic population in Texas and noted that as the reason behind his actions.
Less than 13 hours after the El Paso shooting, another mass shooting took place in the city of Dayton, Ohio, that left nine people dead and many others injured. Between the two shootings, at least 52 were left injured. 24-year-old Connor Betts has been identified as the gunman behind the Dayton shooting.
Betts was shot dead by cops moments into his shooting rampage, CBS News reports, citing law-enforcement sources. Investigators were searching Betts’ home in Bellbrook, Ohio on Sunday, sources told the network.
Meanwhile, the president is spending his weekend at his golf resort in Bedminster, New Jersey, and sent out a few short tweets decrying the massacre in El Paso as “tragic” and “an act of cowardice”.

Today’s shooting in El Paso, Texas, was not only tragic, it was an act of cowardice. I know that I stand with everyone in this Country to condemn today’s hateful act. There are no reasons or excuses that will ever justify killing innocent people….

The FBI, local and state law enforcement are working together in El Paso and in Dayton, Ohio. Information is rapidly being accumulated in Dayton. Much has already be learned in El Paso. Law enforcement was very rapid in both instances. Updates will be given throughout the day!

Shortly after sending out his lackluster response to the two mass shootings, #TrumpsTerrorists started trending on Twitter. Many took to the White House’s occupant’s favorite social media platform to let him know how they feel about the increase in white nationalist-led mass shootings.
How many million Americans would it take to go to Washington DC and remove Trump from office? Shut down everything until he resigns or is forced out some other way?

Trump killed President Obama’s Counter Violence Extremism Task Force, a program that brought together agencies – FBI, CIA & DOJ – to prevent tragedies like this. But Obama did it so Trump gutted it and called ppl “invaders” instead. https://t.co/YELVJGbQCb
