Comedian Paul Mooney is denying claims that he had a sexual relationship with the son of the late Richard Pryor and avoided a $1 million bounty that was allegedly put on his head.
The shocking accusations came from Pryor’s former bodyguard Rashon Kahn in an interview posted Monday by Comedy Hype. According to Kahn, Mooney had sex with Richard Pryor Jr. when Jr. was in his 20s, and he was in his 40s. Kahn claims that when Richard Sr. found out, he put a hit out to have Mooney killed.
Kahn, who is promoting his tell-all book “It Wasn’t Always Funny”, claims the “Harlem Knights” star offered him $1 million to kill Mooney or to find someone else to do it. However, Paul Mooney’s publicist, Cassandra Williams, told TMZ the allegations are completely false.
“There is no validity to Rashon Kahn’s statement as it relates to Mr. Paul Mooney.” Williams said.
In the interview, Kahn claims Richard and Paul’s
“relationship became fragile because Paul Mooney had f****d Richard’s son by that time. He violated … Paul took advantage of the situation.”
Kahn claims he thought Pryor. Sr was high when he first spoke about the bounty, but after checking back with him the following week, he claims Richard made it clear that he was serious.
It appears there might be some validity behind the claims because Richard’s widow, Jennifer Lee Pryor, tweeted that Jr. previously confirmed the sexual relationship after his father’s funeral.
