Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have reportedly called it quits less than a year after getting married.
The 26-year-old singer and 29-year-old actor confirmed the breakup in a joint statement.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers,” a rep for the couple said in a statement to People.
“They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.” the statement added.
The two have been dating on and off since 2009. They first got engaged in 2012 but broke up shortly after. They reconciled in 2015 and walked down the aisle in a private ceremony in December 2018.
Fans speculated some tension after Miley uploaded a recent photo without her wedding ring.
This might explain Miley’s recent Instagram activity of twerk videos and bikini dance videos to Aaliyah’s “Rock The Boat”.
Miley has also been open about her queer identity despite her heterosexual marriage. Fans loved the two as a couple despite their many differences. But it looks like that has all come to an end.
