The legendary comedian Eddie Murphy is ready to bring the funny with his return to the big screen in “Dolemite Is My Name”.
The comedic icon is set to star in the Netflix biopic based on the career of the comedy great Rudy Ray Moore. Murphy stars in the film as the “Godfather of Rap” who transitions from being a struggling comic to a popular ’70s blaxploitation character name Dolemite.
The film follows Moore as he sets out to make Dolemite, a star-studded movie filled with 70s black excellence. Along with Murphy, the film’s cast includes Tituss Burgess, Craig Robinson, Mike Epps, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Keegan-Michael Key, Snoop Dogg, and Wesley Snipes. Craig Brewer serves as the director for the film that is set to hit Netflix this fall.
