It appears Donald Trump and some of his black friends are fuming over ASAP Rocky’s failure to publicly thank the president following his recent release from a Swedish prison.
Since Rocky’s release from prison earlier this month, the Harlem rapper has yet to publicly thank Trump for his involvement in getting Rocky returned to the U.S. Now some of Trump’s Black supporters are stepping in for the president and calling Rocky and his team out for being “ungrateful mother f****rs”.
Darrell Scott and Kareem Lanier, co-chair of the Urban Revitalization Coalition, accused Rocky’s attorney, Damien Granderson, of being too “nonchalant” after learning that Trump was looking into the rapper’s assault case and pushing for his release.
“I was like, man, you ungrateful motherf****rs, you. I can’t believe you,” Scott recalled saying to the attorney.
“The White House didn’t ask for anything,” Scott said, according to Yahoo News. “There were no conditions attached, but my condition and Kareem’s condition was that all I’m asking for you guys to do is say thank you.”
Since Rocky’s release on Aug. 2 from a Swedish prison, the 30-year-old Grammy-nominated rapper, real name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, sent out a thank you message to all who supported his release, but he never personally thanked Trump or Kim Kardashian and Kanye West who reached out to the president for help.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my fans, friends and anyone across the globe who supported me during these last few weeks,” the rapper wrote on his Instagram. “I can’t begin to describe how grateful I am for all of you.”
Welp, looks like Trump is having the “Rocky” week…
