Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton suffered a huge loss after his arm was amputated as a result of a horrific accident Thursday morning.
The 7th round pick of the 2018 NFL draft reportedly crashed just after 1 AM on State Road 836 in Miami, TMZ reports. Norton was driving his Ford F-250 when it hit a concrete barrier wall and flipped over. Police found the car resting on its roof after EMT requested a tow truck to lift the large vehicle.
According to police dispatch audio, Norton’s arm was pinned underneath the truck and may have been severed at the scene, TMZ reports. In the recording, an operator can be heard saying,
“Cannot reach the amputator [or amputated] arm.”
Norton and his female friend were both rushed to a nearby hospital to be treated for “non life-threatening” injuries, TMZ reports.
The accident comes less than one year after Norton was selected in the 7th round of the 2018 NFL draft by the Carolina Panthers following an amazing run at the University of Miami. He went on to get signed with the Miami Dolphins earlier this year.
