The 90s Houston rap legends Scarface and Willie D are taking their trillness to the local government following their recent run announcements for Houston City Council.
Just one month after Scarface announced his run for Houston’s District D, has his group mate Willie D announced that he’s running for District B.
“What’s better than one Geto Boy running for City Council? It’s on family,” D captioned the post. “This is the next step in my evolution to serve and I need your help!”
The veteran rapper, born Williams James Dennis, has been very vocal on social media about politics and his take on cultural and social justice issues. Now both he and Scarface are putting their money where their mouth is and running for local government.
Scarface also took to Instagram to show his support for Willie D in the comment section of the post writing,
“Congrats Will!! What better way to make change in our community From it, of it and love it!!”
News of the Geto Boys political run comes after their recent loss of member Bushwick Bill to stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Looks like their continuing their legacy in a major way.
“Damn it feels good to be a gangsta.”
