Model/singer Cassie is opening up about becoming a mom and how excited she is to see her daughter grow.
Many were surprised when the 32-year-old decided to part ways with Diddy after more than 10 years of dating. Shortly after their split, Cassie went public with her newfound romance with fitness trainer Alex Fine.
Just last month, the couple revealed that they were expecting their first child together. Now Cassie is breaking her silence on her pregnancy for her interview with L’Officiel.
“My priorities have absolutely changed,” she told L’Officiel. “Not just for creating an amazing future and life for my daughter, but because I want her to be proud of me. I’ve heard people say that they’re nervous to raise females in today’s world, but I’m excited. I can’t wait to see her grow, learn and challenge the world right back.”
In addition to becoming a mother, Cassie transitioned to a new female-led team for her new music on her own record label Ventura Music. She recently released three new singles including “Excuses,”, “Hungover” and “Don’t Let Go. All produced by her team that consists only of women of color.
In this new phase of her life, Cassie says she only wants to release music that comes from a place of sincerity instead of “overthinking” everything or being overly critical of herself since she now is making music for her daughter.
Cassie opened up about the kind of role model she wants to be for her baby-to-be.
“The kind of role model that shows her that she can be whomever she wants to be and that she has all of the love and support in the world,” Cassie explained.
“I hope to make her understand the bigger picture in life and that you don’t have to solely be one thing in this world. I want her to know that she can choose,” she added. “My music is just part of a legacy that I wish to leave behind, for her and other women to be inspired by.”
