Crowds of teenagers and children were in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn last week for the third annual Youth Empowerment Show.
The annual event is aimed at teaming up with celebrities and local leaders to inspire the youth to follow their dreams and passion. The recent event brought a large group of young people together to talk about current events and topics that were important to them, while also having fun in an encouraging environment.
Y.E.S. Creators Carl Michel and Shneidine Chery seek help from musicians, community leaders, and celebrities to put together the event aimed at inspiring the teens and children. The young attendees are able to participate throughout the event through dancing, speaking powerful affirmations and having discussions with celebrities and influencers they look up to.
“We put on a show to empower, and that’s exactly what we did. Organizers say we want to complete a tour in all the boroughs in the fall to reach as many people as possible,” says Shneidine Chery, the Executive Producer of the Youth Empowerment Show.
Y.E.S organizers have a goal of reaching as many young people as possible by spreading their events throughout all the NYC boroughs in the fall.
