Talk show host Wendy Williams has had a rough return to her daytime talk show following a long hiatus she claimed was due to medical issues from her graves disease. Following her two-month absence from “The Wendy Williams Show”, the hot topics queen admitted on Tuesday that she has been staying in a sober house in Queens, NY due to her ongoing battle with substance abuse.
While rumors surrounding her husband Kevin Hunter’ alleged infidelity filled media headlines during her break from her show, Wendy returned a few weeks ago and shut down any claims that she and her husband were having marital woes.
However, according to exclusive reports from The Daily Mail, the gossip queen allegedly spiraled into an alcohol and pill addiction after fracturing her shoulder during a confrontation with her husband about his affair with 33-year-old Sharina Hudson. Williams reportedly found out her husband was still carrying on a relationship with his mistress of 10+ years after she hired a private eye to spy on Hunter.
The 54-year-old mother of one has reportedly been staying overnight at a private apartment run by the Pure Recovery Network since she returned to New York City last month. After the DailyMail witnesses Williams being picked up from the facility and driven to her studio in Manhattan before being taken back to the halfway house by her husband following her show taping, they contacted Williams for a statement. Hours after DailyMailTV contacted Williams seeking comment for this story, she broke down in tears on her show on Tuesday morning and admitted that she had been living at the sober home and was attending meetings around New York City.
News of Williams staying at the sober house follows her extended break from her hit daytime talk show that she claimed was for “medical reasons”, but according to The Daily Mail, was due to her checking into a detox and rehab facility in Florida where she reportedly continued to drink and take pills.
